Funeral services for John Wesley Absher, aged Civil War Veteran,who passed away Tuesday, were held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Spring Grove Methodist Church, at the eastern line of Williamson County. The rites were very largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev, Lyman E. Davis of Crab Orchard, a family friend and Rev. John Sutton the pastor. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church which is only a half mile from the family home. Pall bearers both active and honorary were the grandsons and included John Manier. Herman Garrison, Oral Garrison, Ray Garrison, James Absher, Eugene Smothers, Howard Garrison, Lowell Garrison. Artie Manier, Bert Manier, Carl Garrison, Orlie Manier. Flowers were carried by granddaughters; Mrs. V.H. Dungey, Mrs. W. Allen, Mrs Vernie Garrison, Mrs. Everett Dallas, Mrs. Ralph Greeny, Mrs. Troy Blue, Miss. Myrtie Garrison, Mrs. Charles Smothers, Mrs. Oran Murphy, Miss Reva Garrison and Mrs. Frank Burch.
