Raymond Farrell Coffelt "Stoney", 68 years of age, of Chester, Virginia, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on October 6, 2000. Preceded in death by his parents, Reine and Nick Orndorff and brother Donald O. Orndorff. Survived by his devoted wife Nancy G. of 50 years, 5 daughters, Debbie Lowe, Long time companion Tommy Little, Grandson Cain Lowe, Wife Jessica, greatgranddaughter Alyssa. Shari Coombs, husband Jody, granddaughters Jori and Jessica. Brenda Norris, husband Johnny, grandchildren Jamie Dawn and Brice. Dawn Coffelt, husband Bob Estes, grandchildren Kellie and Bryan. Kim Gress, husband Keith, granddaughters Rachel Farrell and Miranda. Sister Pat Quagua and brother Bobby Orndorff, wife Toni. Devoted sister-in-law Patsy Hamlett, husband Watkins Hamlett. A host of other family members and friends.
Ray grew up in the Methodist Children's Home, he served as a page for the Virginia Senate under Harry S. Byrd. He was a Sgt. in the USMC and was in the Korean War. Former State Trooper inPrincess Anne County, retired from Virginia Powser. A Mason Chapter 196 Princess Anne Lodge.
He was a avid scuba diver and active member of Virginia State Police Alumni. His love for music included appearances on the Old Dominion Barndance in richmond and Grand Ole Opry. He was an active member of Chester United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.
A funeral service will be held in Chester United Methodist Church, 12121 Percival St., at 2 PM on Monday, October 9th. The interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers for the family suggests that contributions be made in his memory to Chester United Methodist Church.
