Eula D. "Red" Smith died June 22, 2008, at Seasons Care Center in Kansas City Missouri.
She was born April 15, 1917 in Lee's Summit, Missouri the daughter of farmers James and Lizzie Wyatt. She lived most of her life in the Pleasant Hill area and had lived for 25 years at Broadway Village after moving from her home on Clearview Drive. From Broadway Village, she moved to Crown Care Center in Harrisonville and recently to Seasons.

Red attended school in Pleasant Hill and worked at the Greenhouse when she was a young girl. She married George A. Smith on June 28, 1940 in Hamilton, Missouri. They made their home in Pleasant Hill. She liked to tell about their dates at local area skating rinks where they made a dashing young pair, about picnics at the city lake and about driving to Harrisonville with other young couples for movies and church socials.

She is best remembered for having been the babysitter for many Pleasant Hill children and had remained close to several of them. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1967; her parents; Mary Jane Smith, an infant daughter who died shortly after birth; two sisters, Mary Ellen Brannock and Nettie Carnahan; and three brothers, Roger G. Wyatt, Ray T. Wyatt and James W. Wyatt.

Her survivors include her son William R. "Bill" Smith and his wife Joan, Pleasant Hill; a sister, Rebecca Tolliver, Ohio; two granddaughters, Jennifer Moran and her husband Patrick, Pleasant Hill, and Angela Luttrell, North Kansas City; six grandchildren: Alexander Moran, Ryan Moran, Marley Moran and Sophia Moran, all of Pleasant Hill, Justin Luttrell, Blue Springs, and Kody Miller, Rogers, AR.; and a niece and nephew, Suzanne Tolliver and Robert Tolliver, both of Ohio. She also leaves many friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday June 25, 2008 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill where visitation will be held one hour prior. Reverend D. Kent Deubner will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
