SANBORN KENNETH L. A longtime resident of Walnut Creek and Concord, passed away on March 2, 2003 at the age of 78. Ken was an avid sports fan, fisherman, hunter, and father. Born in Drinkwater, Saskatchewan, he earned an engineering degree and pursued doctoral studies at UC Berkeley. Ken joined the US Air Force and helped build the Alaskan Highway. His interest in genealogy was contagious and his passion for tinkering is unsurpassed. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ken leaves his sister Shirley Jones of Vancouver, BC, Canada, and five children: Steven and Jolynn of Walnut Creek, CA., Neil of Fremont, CA., Brian of Pleasanton, CA., and Loren of Kentfield, CA. He took extra pride in his six granddaughters Jessica, Annalee, Britta, Paige, Erica, and Michelle. A private service is planned and his ashes will be cast near his favorite fishing hole. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, certain to bring an unforgettable smile to Ken's face.
