KANSAS CITY, MO - On Sunday, June 15, 2008, Robert "Bob" F. Anderson, 96, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away at "Hospice House", in Kansas City. A celebration of Bob' s life and a visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, from 6pm-8pm at the McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will follow 11 a.m, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at McGilley' s with burial at Mount Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the Family suggest contributions be made to "The Kansas City Hospice House" located at 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145 or to the Brenner' s Childern' s Hospital, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27157-1021 in memory of his daugther, Jeannette Anderson Parker. On November 26, 1911 in Aurora, Missouri , Bob was born to Preston Robert and Pernie Edith (Cline) Anderson. During Bob' s life there were fourteen presidents of the United States. Bob attended Pittsburg State Teachers College now Pittsburg State University where he became a member of Sigma Tau Fratenity. Bob was a Navy Veteran of WWII. As a Manufacturer' s Representative two of many of Bob' s accomplishments were the original lighting of the Truman Library under the direction of Mrs. Harry Truman and the original lighting on the Kansas Turnpike. Bob was a former member of the Elks Club Lodge No. 26, the Optimist Club, Lifetime member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and the VFW Post No. 846. He also served as a past president and a past treasurer of the homes association of his sub-division. Bob is survived by his wife, Morita Mackay Anderson. Together they enjoyed 58 years of married life. Surviving Bob are two daughters; Bubbles (Jerry ) King of Kansas City, and Peggy (Bruce) Crowder of Olathe, Kansas, and son-in-law David N. Parker of Winston-Salem, N.C. Six granddaughters: Morita Dugan, Kathleen Cussigh, Laura Passler Snow, Lisa Mudge, Neel Parker, Kate Parker, six grandsons: Jerry King, John King, Bill King, Bobby Crowder and Harrison Parker, who will be pallbearers, and 25 great-grandchildren survive Bob. Also surviving is his beloved niece, Janice Ann Mackay. Besides his parents Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannette Catherine Anderson Parker, and great-granddaughter, Catherine "Katie" Vera Cussigh.
