Henry Allman

Henry Allman, 86, died today at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He had lived in Edinburgh since 1946. He had been a resident of Faith Nursing Home in Edinburgh.

He was born Jan.4, 1904, in Jackson County. His parents were Samuel Allman and Ida (Leslie) Allman. He was married to Bertha E. (Cockerham) Allman. She died in 1971. He later married Myrtle Canter. She survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Helen Streeval of Edinburgh, Wilma Adair of Edinburgh, Lola Anderson of Columbus, Donna Henson of Franklin and Charlotte Denson of Edinburgh; four sons, Herbert Allman of Rockledge, Fla., Ward Allman of Edinburgh, Chester Allman of Edinburgh and Richard Allman of Edinburgh; a sister, Elsie Hashman of Franklin; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathleen Allman; and 14 brothers and sisters.

He worked for Hamilton Cosco manufacturing company in Columbus for 14 years before retiring in 1966.

He belonged to Apostolic Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Edinburgh.

The Rev. Grover J. Myers will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Apostolic Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Burial will be at Acme Cemetery in Jackson County. Graveside rites will take place at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the cemetery.

Funeral for Henry Allman, 86, of Edinburgh was conducted Thursday by the Rev. Grover Myer at Apostolic Tabernacle. Burial was at Acme Cemetery in Jackson County.

Pallbearers were Terry and Dallas Adair, John Allman, Kevin Denson and Bobby Henson and Joe and Gary Streeval.

Allman died Tuesday at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
