Spartanburg - James Brank Crowe, 52, of 441 Wofford St., died at his home at 6 p.m. Sunday after a brief illness.
A native of Madison County, NC, he was the son of the late Sam and Rachel Proffitt Crowe. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Johnson Crowe; one daughter, Mrs. Sylva Owens of Spartanburg; six sons, Sammie, Richard, Gerald, Buzzy, Jimmy, and Lonnie Crowe of Spartanburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Woodruff of Spartanburg and Mrs. Lora Price of Inman; one brother, LLoyd Price of Chicago, Ill.
Burial Sunset Memorial Park, Spartanburg.
James Brank Crowe was the son of Samuel Henry Crowe (1879-????) who was the son of Joseph Warren Crow (1844-1921) who was the son of Willis Crow (1820 after 1900) who was the son of Levi Crow (1782-1850) who was the son of James Crow (1740-1833).
This family is part of the Gold DNA Crow family group of Crows.
