SUFFOLK - Emmett M. "Jack" Myers, 77, a local and regional water color artist, died Friday Feb. 4. A native of Oriskany, he graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. and attended North Carolina State University. During and after World War II, he worked as an aeronautical engineer for Convair before joining Noland Co. in 1949, from which he retired in 1971, as manager of Merchandizing-Electrical Division. He built custom homes and furniture in his retirement. Survived by two daughters, Barbara W. Myers of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., Susan E. Myers of Brattleboro, Vt.; a son, David V. Myers of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and five grandchildren. Funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News. Burial in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. today at 1460 Bridge Point Trail. Memorials to Hospice of West Alabama, 9th St., Tuscaloosa, Ala. or local hospice organizations.
