Matthew F. Orr, 92, Overland Park, KS passed away Friday, June 20, 2008 at the John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at the Cure' of Ars Catholic Church. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the St. John's Cemetery, Herington, KS. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a rosary recitation will be at 7:00 p.m.. Mr. Orr was born in Herington, KS to Amor C. and Bettie (Biehler) Orr. He was a self-employed consulting engineer. He was a member of the SPEBSQSA and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Orr was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Louise Orr. Survivors include his wife, Florence (Easterday) Orr; four children, Sharon Orr, Phoenix, AZ, Betsy Dodson, Lee's Summit, MO, Matthew F. (Elizabeth) Orr, Jr., Huntsville, AL and Patricia (James) Ascheman, Liberty, MO; seven grandchildren, Debbie (Jay) Estes, Laurie Ross, Tracy Lasater, Julie Croft, Michael (Tina) Orr, Jessica Orr and David Ascheman; 13 great grandchildren; six step children, Michael (Mary Alice) Easterday, Lawrence, KS, Mary Jo (Walt) Husten, Bellview, NE, Martha (Mike) Hammontree, Columbus, OH, James (Dorothy) Easterday, Overland Park, KS, Cathy (Clif) Dodge, Salina, KS and Susie Cannon, Overland Park, KS; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
