Helena Margaret Wesner Gannac, 90, of Sullivan, passed away at 2:39 AM Wednesday June 18, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan. She was born in Merom, Indiana June 26, 1917 the daughter of Clayton Cenial (Pete) Huff and Fannie Mae Smith Huff. She was a member of the Merom United Methodist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her first husband Shy Wesner in 1958, her second husband Leon Gannac in 1986, one brother; Clayton Jr. (Buddy) Huff, and three sisters; Naomi Bates, Minerva Pinkston, and Betty Huff. Survivors include three sons; Ron Wesner, and Darrell Wesner both of Sullivan, and Brian Wesner of Greenwood, In., two sisters; Joyce Coe of Buchanan, TN. and Reva Bates of San Diego, Ca., 7 grandchildren; Kim Holladay, Bill Wesner, Jon Wesner, Shi Morris, Jessica Lookebill, Chris Wesner, and David Wesner, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Like her father, Helena was known for her story telling and could keep friends and strangers alike entertained for sometime. She was fond of singing and in her early years sang at various events throughout the area. She lived her entire life in Sullivan Co, except for a brief move to Idaho. Her family and friends will miss her presence in their lives. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM Saturday June 21, 2008 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Beery officiating. Burial in the Merom Cemetery.
