LANDISBURG - Faye E. Zeigler, 83, a resident of the Church of God Home in Carlisle, formerly of 4835 Waggoners Gap Road, Landisburg, moved to a heavenly home on Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
Born on May 12, 1925 at the Carlisle Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther "Duty" and Susan Elizabeth Rice Bolze of Oak Grove. She grew up in that area with a sister, Anna Mae and two brothers, Frank and Bruce, all who predeceased her.
On June 28, 1947, she married the late Leroy R. Zeigler who passed away on September 21, 1979. This union was blessed with five children, Connie F. Parson and husband, James, Jack L. Zeigler and wife, Lorraine, Terry C. Zeigler and wife, Darlene, all of Landisburg, Karen L. Hockenberry and husband, Karl of Bonita Springs, FL, Michael R. Zeigler and wife, Colleen, and Helena of Montana. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a niece, Marilyn Swarner and a nephew, Richard Bolze.
She was a former employee of the Reeves Hoffman Company and retired from G. S. Electric, both in Carlisle.
Faye played the piano, guitar, accordian and pump organ and also sang and yodelled. For many years she, her father, cousins and other family members provided special music and songs for churches and events in the local area.
She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church near Landisburg. She was a member of the Lady Landis Rebekah Lodge 303, Landisburg, serving as Noble Grand in 1991-1992. In 1995 she received the Chilvary Degree.
A viewing for Faye will be held Sunday, June 22 from 6- 8 p.m., in the Nickel Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, and a Rebekah Lodge service at 7:45 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 800 Falling Springs Road, Landisburg, with the Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. There will be a viewing from 10-11 a.m., Monday in the church. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 800 Falling Springs Road, Landisburg, PA 17040
