Norman Rodney Richmond, of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center of Little Rock, AR. He was born August 9, 1939 in Smackover, Arkansas, son of C.B. Richmond, Jr. and Martha Nugent Richmond.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pineville, LA. He belonged to many other educational and professional organizations. During his career he was a recipient of the Dunbar Award in the state of Louisiana.

Rodney was a caring and compassionate friend to all who knew him. He was a graduate of Louisiana College and Louisiana State University with a Master of Social Work degree. He retired as Associate Administrator of Pinecrest Developmental Center in Pineville, LA. He continued to work as a licensed clinical social worker for the developmentally disabled. He was an avid LSU sports fan and enjoyed many years of tailgating at LSU.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 45 years; one sister; one special nephew and his wife, their four loving children; a host of nieces; nephews; very special friends, and his buddy, his dog Sweet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Trudy Lee and his brother Sherman Richmond.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Pineville, LA. Followed by committal service and burial at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, LA.
