Lena Hankins Doughten, 88, of Eldorado, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at her home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the Eldorado Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating.
Lena was born July 24, 1916, in Jackson County to Charlie Emmerson and Rosa Lillian (Collett) Hankins. She attended Lincoln Schools. She married Guy Doughten on Valentine's Day in 1938. To this union, two children were born.
Lena worked hard at the family farm side by side with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of the Eldorado Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Doughten, her parents, her sister, Flavel Cotton, a son-in-law, Delbert Smith and a nephew, Farrell Sherwood.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Reynolds and husband Arlin; her son, Charles Doughten and wife Floy; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a niece, Thelma Gunkel; and a nephew, Dale Sherwood.
