husband of Mae E Nye married 23 November 1950 and son of the late Charles O. and Nellie M. (Monn) Martin. Mr. Martin was a warehouse worker for 35 years at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He retired in 2003 from Martian Security, Chambersburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was a member of the 3rd Army, 94th Infantry Division. He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service. He was a life member of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 and the 94th Infantry Division Association, a life member and past commander of DAV Post 78 and a member of the Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, all of Chambersburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Anne E. Martin of Morrisville, N.C., Rebecca E. Lehman of St. Thomas and Ruth E. Freshman of Chambersburg; two sons, Michael E. Martin of Chambersburg and Thomas E. Martin of St. Thomas; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Martin of Waynesboro and Glenn Martin of South Mountain; and two sisters, Laverne Wolfe of Quincy and Kay Pacquette of South Mountain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Wayne E. Martin, on Dec. 31, 1983; one sister, Lorraine Smith; and two brothers, Earl Martin and Larry Martin.
