Arthur Glenn Eves, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Salt Lake City. He is now in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ and beloved mother, Zora Mae, who died three years ago.

Arthur was born in Berkeley, California on October 27, 1933 to Arthur Glenn and Zora Mae Amtoft Eves. He attended Springville, Utah schools and graduated in 1952 from Springville High. He was on the state championship basketball team that year. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1953-1955. He met Carol Joan Wartena and they were married November 2, 1956 in the Los Angeles Temple. He served in the U. S. Army in Germany being honorably discharged after two years. Arthur had a great love for singing with his beautiful tenor voice. He sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir from 1970 to 1972. He loved the scriptures and was often found in the early morning hours studying them.

His greatest treasure is his eternal family; his wife of 51 years, and 11 children: Daniel (Sharon) Eves, Beverly (Jon) Strahan, Arthur Jay (Leisa) Eves, Chris Eves, Sarah (Mike) Morrill, Robin Tarr, Anita (Todd) Cripps, Elizabeth (Rob) Morrill, Rebecca (Cameron) Knudson, David (Alexis) Eves, Sally (Ryan) Whittaker. Plus his amazing 55 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five siblings: Maxine (Grant) Weight, Wendell (Carol Jean) Eves, Carol Joy (D.) Scheiss, Paul (Joy) Eves, and Howard (Ann) Eves. Preceded in death by his father, his mother and sister, Beverly who died shortly after birth. Art will be greatly missed by his friends and family, but we know he is waiting for us in heaven saving "seats" until we all arrive and fill them.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Chapel and again on Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale at 2:30 p.m. with Full Military Rites accorded by the Utah Veterans Tribute.
