Opal V. Spicer, 88, of Weston, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Churchville on March 4, 1920; daughter of the late Charles Lattea and Bessie (Snyder) Lattea.
On August 4, 1942, she married Jack Madill Spicer, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2007.
Opal is survived by one son, George W. Spicer of Weston; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty George of Fairmont, Irene Cherney of California, and Susan Conlon of Bridgeport; and one brother, Bill Lattea of Charleston.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jack W. Spicer.
Opal helped her husband manage the Minuteman Dairy King for many years and owned Karrie yard stick fabric shop. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, June 15, at 1 p.m., from the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew with Reverend Hal Hevener.
Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston handled arrangements for Opal V. Spicer.
