Ard, Robert "Buck", 59, Somerset, died Friday, August 6 (2004) at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born September 12, 1944 in the Ringgold community of Pulaski County to the late Hobert and Ruby Bell Ard. He married Verna Dick Ard on July 16, 1965 in Chicago, Ill.
He was employed as a construction worker and pipe layer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Verna; three sons, Jeff (and Margaret) Dick, Somerset, Jerry Ard, Somerset and Ronald Ard, Somerset; a brother, Arthur Lee (and Wilma) Ard, Somerset; three sisters, Mildred (and Glenn) Leisure, Chicago, Ill., Betty (and Wayne) Ping, Somerset, and Linda (and Bobby) Mattox, Somerset; two sister-in-laws, Helen Ard, Somerset, and Wanda Ard, Somerset; and three grandchildren, Christopher Dick, Morgan Avera, and Tyler Ard. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Donald Girdler, Elza Ard, Leslie Ard and Lloyd Ard.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 10 at Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial was at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
