Survivors include his wife, Verna; three sons, Jeff (and Margaret) Dick, Somerset, Jerry Ard, Somerset and Ronald Ard, Somerset; a brother, Arthur Lee (and Wilma) Ard, Somerset; three sisters, Mildred (and Glenn) Leisure, Chicago, Ill., Betty (and Wayne) Ping, Somerset, and Linda (and Bobby) Mattox, Somerset; two sister-in-laws, Helen Ard, Somerset, and Wanda Ard, Somerset; and three grandchildren, Christopher Dick, Morgan Avera, and Tyler Ard. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Donald Girdler, Elza Ard, Leslie Ard and Lloyd Ard.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 10 at Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial was at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
