The origin of the Rake cemetery is unknown. I received the following information from Millie Covey Fry via e-mail stating: "I visited the Rake Cemetery (formerly the Snodgrass farm and cemetery)on SR26 in Lawrence Township this morning with George Rake. He mentioned that a close relative has researched the Rake Family. Contact George at 740/473-2215. He mentioned this morning that the Rake family was from Germany and was in Washington County in the early 1800s. My ancestor was Hiram Snodgrass and his daughter, Sarah, married Elijah Rake. Eventually the Snodgrass cemetery was renamed."

The information came from the Washington County Public Library in Marietta, Ohio from Chris Painter a fellow FAG member. The information is from a book or ducument titled Rack, Racke and Raike and Allied Families, author unknown, over 100 pages.
