Sophia Alta Donnell was the daughter of William Carroll Donnell and Sarah Elizabeth (Lansden) Donnell. William Carroll Donnell was the son of Eden Burr Donnell and Elizabeth (Garmany) Donnell. W C Donnell died in the Civil War on 9 Sept 1863 in Kingston, Bartow County, Georgia, and is believed to be buried there in a mass grave. Sarah Elizabeth then married John Nelson Summar. They are also buried in Milton Cemetery.
