Edward Frederick Squires was born September 24, 1867 the first child of John Paternoster & Eleanor Favor Cox Squires. He was a barber like his father and most of his brothers and half brothers. He had 9 siblings, Eleanor Cora, Samuel Cox, Benjamin Cox, John Carlos Cox, Rachel Cox, Alma Cox, Thomas Cox, Eliza Cox,, & Jesse Cox Squires. He married Josephine E. Von Detlefson September 25, 1894 at St Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco, CA. They divorced in March of 1898 after being separated since 1895. He married Janet Melvina McNeill(Mell) September 27th, 1899 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had 6 children, Melva, Anna, Boyd, Jack, Laddie, and Shirley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet on 12/27/1940. Freddie loved to walk everywhere he went and was in excellent physical condition until the end of his life.
