Mrs. Alice Virginia Rummel, 77, widow of George Thomas Rummel, 77, widow of George Thomas Rummel, died unexpectedly at 11:45 yesterday morning at the home of her son, Frank D. Rummel, of Mercersburg, R. R. 2.
She was born on October 21, 1869, in Franklin County, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Shatzley Deardorff. She was a member of the Mr. Union United Brethren Church.
Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Samuel L. Kauffman and Edgar M. Rummel, of Mercersburg, R. R. 2, and one brother, Charles Deardorff, of Chambersburg. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
