Mr. Scherer, 55, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died March 8 at home. He was a postal worker with the Parlin post office for the past 15 years. Surviving are his mother, Elizabeth Unkel Scherer of Sayreville; four brothers, Timothy W. Scherer of South Amboy, Craig G. Scherer of Lebanon Township, Mark K. Scherer of Lacey and Shawn S. Scherer of Jackson; three nieces, Jamie Elizabeth Scherer, Rachael Marie Scherer and Hannah Rose Scherer; and two nephews, Jason Gerard Scherer and Timothy William Scherer. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
