Clarence was the son of Ellahugh and Stella (Childers) Bias. He was married to Gladys (Chinn) Bias and they had a son born in 1943, Joseph Michael Bias that grew up without his dad.

Clarence was a Private in the US Army, he entered the service on 28 Oct 1943 at Camp Wheeler, GA. He served in England, France and was ultimately killed in Action on 7 Aug 1944 in Germany. His body was returned home for burial. He was awarded the PURPLE HEART
