He spent his childhood in Phillipsburg, Kas., and on April 12, 1917, was united in marriage to Hazel Taylor. To this union six children were born. His wife and an infant son preceded him in death.
"Mac," as he was known, was active in Scouting as long as his health permitted and received one of the highest awards in Scouting, the Silver Beaver.
Mr. McKenzie joined the Fairbury First Christian church March 28, 1929, and was an elder emeritus at the time of his death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hilton (Fern) Harbison of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Earl (Doris) Creighton of Overland Park, Kas.; three sons, Donald of Boulder, Colo., Dean of Fairbury, and Richard of Medford, Ore.; sister, Mrs. Bertha Kelley of Brownvllle, and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church in Fairbury. Rev. Virgil Willits officiated. Burial was in the Fairbury cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roy Holloway, Henry Pavlicek, Paul Regnier, Dr. C. B. Schwab, Oscar Branson, and Irvin Junker. A memorial was established for the Christian church.
