Hans Carl Vilhelm Hansen, was the son of Jens "James" Ambrose Hansen and Elena Evertsen. He was born in 1863 in Humleback, Frederiksborg, Denmark. He was Christened on July 19, 1863 Frederiksborg district in Denmark. Later his parents became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) church and migrated to the United States in 1870 with their children, including Hans who was 7 years old. Years later, growing to adulthood he married Olga Petersen.
