His military records state that his burial during Civil War was in an unmarked grave near Camp Douglas, Chicago, Cook Co., Il.
He was captured 10-15-1864 at Tunnel Hill, GA., was transported to Camp Douglas, Il. and arrived there 10-26-1864, contracted smallpox, and died of that disease there on 12-17-1865.
