He was the son of Franklin Marion and Helen Cargill Bone. He attended McAlester High School before entering the United States Navy. He served until he received his honorable discharge at the rank of petty officer 3 and 2. He returned to McAlester and began his career at the United States Army Ammunition Plant in Savanna, where he worked as a blocker and bracer. He retired in 2007 with more than 27 years of service. He married Syble Young on Aug. 6, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was an outdoorsman and fisherman. He was a member of the Eufaula Rod and Gun Club and the B.A.S.S. Federation. He passed away at his home in Krebs at the age of 57. Survivors include his wife, Syble Bone, of the home; his mother, Helen Bone, of McAlester; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jessie and Jeff Otis, of McAlester, Billie Sistrunk, of McAlester, Jessica and Barry Williams, of McAlester, and Jennifer Moore, of Talihina; two stepdaughters and spouses, Donna Morris and partner, Elizabeth Stefanik, of Oklahoma City, and Michelle and Daryl Rainer, Houston; a stepson and spouse, Carl and Kelli Morris, Wichita Falls, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Clayton Rainer, Austin Rainer, Chance Sistrunk, Emily Morris, Jaleed Sheehan, Scott Rainer, Jeremy Otis, Ashley Morris, Ginny Morris, and J. D. Holcomb; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Susan Bone, of McAlester; a sister, Barbara Bone, Santa Fe, N.M.; his mother-in-law, Alice Young, of McAlester; special friend, David Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eldon Northcutt, Pete Peterson, Gary Palmer, David Bailey, Mike Everett, and Asti McFarland. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jeremy Otis, Chance Sistrunk, Clayton Rainer, Scott Rainer, and Austin Rainer. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bone; a grandson, Christopher Morris, and a granddaughter, Candice Sistrunk. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery with special friend, David Bailey, officiating. Military honors will be provided by Robert B. Thomas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1098. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
