ROANOKE, AL - Funeral services for Rosalyn Handley Lane McMurray, 71, of Roanoke were 3:30 p.m. Monday, 27 Nov 1995 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Douglas Turner and Rev Milton Booth officiating. Burial was at Cedarwood Cemetery.

Mrs. McMurray died Sunday, 26 Nov 1995 at her home.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, AL, she was born 30 Sep 1924, daughter of Paul Faulkner and Margaret Evelyn Handley Lane. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College and had retired after having taught English at Handley High School for 20 years. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Literary Club, Silhouette Club and D.A.R., and for a time was society editor for The Randolph Leader.

Survivors include one daughter, Lane McMurray Saunders of Alexander City, AL; three sons, James Leonard McMurray Jr., Dr. Paul Augustus McMurray and Thomas Anglin McMurray II, all of Roanoke, AL; one sister, Margaret Lane Shaffer of Alexander City, AL; and ten grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Blake Shaffer, Frank Hodges, William Lane, Wesley Schuessler, Jim Robinson and Jodie Hamner.

Quattlebaum Funeral Home of Roanoke was in charge of arrangements.
