Mrs. Rudolph, 88, formerly a longtime resident of the St. Cloud area, died Sunday (June 15, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Lucille Hohmann was born June 8, 1920, in St. Cloud, Minn. She married A.J. "Rudy" Rudolph on Oct. 30, 1945, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice. They lived in the Rice area until moving to St. Cloud in 1982; they moved to the Rochester area in 2002.
Mrs. Rudolph was a graduate of St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Benton County, Minn., and later at Rice Elementary School. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Christian Mothers and the Rice American Legion Post 273 Auxiliary, and volunteered at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She is survived by five children, Carol (Dick) Boberg of Rochester, Allan (Mary) Rudolph of St. Cloud, Jerry (Debbie) Rudolph of Mahtomedi, Minn., Ann (John) Carter of Eyota and Kathryn (Joseph) Kuntz of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Baron of Pierz, Minn., and Mary Bye of St. Cloud. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 20, 2003, and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids, Minn., and an hour before the service Thursday at the church in Rice. There will be a Rice American Legion Post 273 Auxiliary Prayer service at 6:30 p.m., followed by Parish Prayers at 7 p.m., both Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Quiet Oaks Hospice of St. Cloud, or a hospice facility of the donor's choice.
