B.B. Brown died on Aug 14, 1913, only a month after the creation of Bay County. He became the first Mason to be buried in the new county. Acme Lodge took charge of the arrangements. Interment followed in the Millville Cemetery.

Pioneer Resident Dead
B.B. Brown, Father of the Sheriff Passes Away
After a long and useful life, B.B. Brown, father of Sheriff W.A. Brown, died at the residence of his son-in-law, W.E. Spiva, at St. Andrews, last Monday.
Mr. Brown was 80 years of age, and had been a resident of this section 60 years. He was buried Tuesday at Millville, by the Masonic order, of which he had long been a member. This was the first Masonic funeral in Bay County.
Space forbids a more extended mention of Mr. Brown's activities, but further notice will be given next week.
