MARY B. SHAFER Jan. 28, 1912 -- Feb. 10, 2002
Mary Bishop Shafer, 90, of Ceres died Sunday at her home. Mrs. Shafer was a native of Manila, Ark. She lived in Ceres 10 years; she had previously lived in Waterford from 1941-62 and Watsonville from 1962-90. She worked for Green Giant for many years. She was a member of the American Legion, Watsonville. She is survived by her children, Helen Woody of Osceola, Mo., and Thelma Holder and Betty Perry, both of Modesto; and 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto 95350.
