Mrs. Shideler died at her home Thursday evening, July 30, 1959, following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by Dr. Shideler last December 18. A native of Cincinnati, Mrs. Shideler was born Dec. 20, 1886 and later attended Miami University. She taught school in Hamilton County and on June 16, 1911 became the bride of Dr. Shideler. A noted lecturer, Mrs. Shideler had traveled widely and had spoken to many clubs on her precious gem collection, her prized antiques and her favorite flowers. Of a kind and loving disposition, she was devoted to her family but also had a wide interest in womens activities. At one time she served on the board of the National Federation of Womens Clubs. She was also a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Cincinnati Hobby Club, the Current Events Club, the Monday Club, the Oxford Music Club, Business and Professional Womens Club, the Women's Faculty Club, the American Association of University Women, Delta Omicron educational honorary and Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority. She also served as patroness of several local sorority colonies which later took on national affiliation.
