OBITUARY OF EDMON MORROW
Edmon Morrow was born in Cass County, Nebraska, December 9, 1875. After a lingering illness of nearly two years, he died at his home on January 18, 1928 aged 52 years, 1 month and 9 days. Mr. Morrow came to Burt County with his parents about 35 years ago. March 12, 1902 he was married to Miss Margaret A. Saxton. To this union came 8 children to bless their home: Iva A., Arthur S., Margaret A., Florence E., Donald E., Elladale, Mary C. and Glenn W. Morrow, all of whom survive their father and reside in the home.
Mr. Morrow was deeply devoted to his family, loved his home and was a real husband and father.
He was converted and united with Methodist church while yet a boy. After coming to Burt County he united with the Riverside Baptist Church and was a deacon for many years up to the time of his death. As a member and deacon of the church he will be sadly missed and it will be difficult to fill his place. While he was unable to attend the services of the church for several months, he was interested in every phase of the church program and his prayers were always for its success. Outside the church circle as well as among the members of his church he will be missed on account of his interest, and kindly spirit in everybody and all of the affairs of the community. He was a Spanish- American war veteran. And while in the service he received a letter from W.J. Bryan expressing his appreciation
of the good influence exerted by Mr. Morrow among men, and expressing a wish that Mr. Morrow might remain with the army indefinitely on account of his high ideals and good, clean moral character, so much needed in army life. He also was a member of the Masonic lodge in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and 5 daughters. In addition to his immediate family, his mother, one brother, Dr. Lawrence Morrow, and four sisters, Mrs. George Grothe, Miss Anna Morrow, Miss Lillian Morrow and Miss Hazel Morrow, all of whom live in Burt County except Hazel, who is a teacher in the public schools in Hastings.
Services were held from the Riverside Baptist Church, Friday afternoon at two o'clock, his pastor, Rev. E.M. Owings, officiating. The Masonic lodge had charge of the services at the cemetery at Tekamah. The services were largely attended. Mr. Morrow was widely and well known in the county.
