She was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy Reserve as a nurse in San Diego, CA. She worked for twenty years as a private duty nurse at Watts Hospital. Prior to retirement, she also served as an office manager at Garrard Plumbing Company for 5 years.
Mrs. Garrard is survived by her husband, John T. Garrard; a daughter, Debra Garrard of Ball Ground, GA; son, Robert Frank Garrard of Durham; five grandchildren, John T. Garrard, II, Robert Che' Garrard, Michael Chase Hales, Rachel Plotzke and John Garrard Robie; and four great grandchildren, Isabella Garrard, Elena Garrard, Jackson Hales and Stella Hales.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, John Bradley Garrard, in 1975.
