Funeral services for Mabel Sullenger, 83, of Taneyville, will be held June 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Whelchel Funeral Chapel in Forsyth. Burial will follow at the Dickens Cemetery in Taneyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. June, 8, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sullenger died June 4, 2008, at Forsyth Nursing & Rehab.
Mabel was born the daughter of Joseph T. and Katie Hicks. She and her husband celebrated 65 years together before his death. She attended the Forsyth Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard "Sparky" Sullenger; sisters, Ava Blair and Viva Lanning; brother, Joe Hicks; half-brother, Bud Hicks; half-sisters, Zella Carter and Iva Booten; and son-in-law, David Edwards.
She is survived by her daughters, Katy Clarkson Coleman and her husband Eddie, of Forsyth, and Leona Edwards, of Goodhope; son, Paul Sullenger and his wife Janet, of Taneyville; and eight grandchildren.
