Martha Elizabeth Hundley, more familiarly known to her friends Bettie, was born in Roanoke county June 9th, 1854.
In early childhood her parents moved to Snowville, where the rest of her life was spent.
She was married June 25, 1877, to C. E. Elmore and to them were born Samuel, Keith, Hampton, Katie and Erie Elmore. The two older children died in childhood.
Mrs. Elmore was only confined to her bed a short time before the end, and while very weak, was not a sufferer
Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. W. M. Jones pastor of the Christian Church of which Mrs. Elmore had been a life long member.
