Emma was the daughter of John and Levenia Armstrong Knowles, sister of Hester, Alfred, Lillie, Ella, Ebenezer, Burton, Hattie, James, Floy, Jennie, and Minnie Knowles. Emma was first married to Jessie Charles Marty, b. 3 May 1877. They had a daughter Alice. She then married Benjamin Harrison Bricco (1879-1959). With her siblings and other relatives she emigrated from southern Minnesota to Pendant d'Oreille, Alberta, Canada to homestead. They are listed in the Alberta 1916 Census. She and Ben had a son together, Albert A Bricco. They eventually moved to Klamath Falls, Klamath County, OR until her death.
