"Dana B. Fowler, aged 63, died of a heart attack at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at his residence in Youngstown. His health had not been good for several years. Mr. Fowler was born in Canfield January 8, 1883, a son of Charles C. and Gertrude C. Fowler, and was a great-great-grandson of Jonathan Fowler first settler of Poland township. After completing school in Canfield, he was employed for several years in the registry and money order divisions of the Youngstown post office, and later in the offices of the Youngstown Sheet & Tube company. In 1914 he became associated with his father, publisher of the Mahoning Dispatch, and recently had been on the staff of the United States Employment Bureau in Youngstown. On Aug. 16, 1916, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Bertch of Youngstown. She died in 1927. Mr. Fowler was a member of Argus Lodge, No. 545 F&AM of canfield, serving as Master in 1920 and as lodge secretary for 14 years. He was also affiliated with Youngstown chapter 93, R.A.M. Buechner Council No. 107, R&SM; New Castle Consistory, and Al Koran Shrine, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Surviving besides his parents are a sister; Miss Marion G. Fowler and a brother, Ralph D. Fowler. Masonic funeral services were held at 3:30 Saturday in the Orr Funeral Home and burial made in the Canfield cemetery."
