Per Charlott Jones:
Gussie was the daughter of Rev. Gustavus Hines and his second wife Ann Johnson. Gussie was born in 1872 a year after her parents were married. Gussie's mother was unable to care for Gussie when she became ill, so a very old pioneer family of Columbus, now Maryhill, Washington provided a home for little Gussie. They were the Hicenbothem family. Little Gussie had a short life, dying of diptheria in May 1880 and was buried in the Hicenbothem family plot in the Maryhill/Columbus Cemetery, Maryhill, Klickitat County, Washington.
