Captain J. Kenneth Hall, 97, of Colorado Springs, died in his home on May 6th of natural causes.

He was a career U. S. Navy dental officer, and after retiring from the Navy had a private dental practice limited to prosthetics in Colorado Springs from 1970 to 1980.

In Colorado Springs he was active in the Men's Garden Club, the Mercedes Club and Gateway Presbyterian Church.

The funeral service will be a private family ceremony at Dr. Hall's hometown of Griswold, Iowa on June 21. Dr. Hall received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, graduating in May. 1942, and marrying Claire (Douglas) Hall the same day.

Their marriage lasted until Claire's death in 2004. During World War II Captain Hall was stationed in Hawaii, and, following the War, in Washington D.C. He later served on a hospital ship, the U. S. Consolation, and at U. S. Naval Hospitals in: Portsmouth, Virginia; Bremerton, Washington; and Oakland, California. Overseas tours of duty included Naples, Italy, and his final station in Taipei, Taiwan, where he was Senior Dental Officer.

He is survived by a son, Douglas Hall of Santa Barbara, California, a daughter and son-in-law, Heather (Hall) and Hugh Lyle of Cascade, Colorado, and three grandchildren: Mackenzie (Lyle) Burford, Denver; Ian Lyle, Washington D. C.; and Christina Lyle, Cascade.
