Mamie Ellen Philips passed away June 1, 2008, in Evergreen, Colorado.
She was born February 22, 1917, in Hillsboro, Iowa, to the late John D. and Sylvia M. Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Clem W. Philips, and grandson, Rodney Cogdill.
Mamie is survived by her son, Clem M. and Inge Philips of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter Sandra Cogdill of Canon City, Colorado; grandchildren Karen and Richard Resnick of Webster, New York; Brian and Nancy Philips of Tega-Cay, South Carolina; Jennifer and Mark Rouse of Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Also surviving are great grandchildren, Megan Resnick, Emily Resnick, Katherine Philips, Spencer Philips, Lake Rouse and Walker Rouse.
Mamie loved their home in the Colorado mountains where she took great joy in feeding the hummingbirds. She loved crafts of all kinds, especially crocheting.
Services for Mamie will be held on Monday June 16, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will immediately follow the services.
