Mrs. Jennie Cordella Peacock, age 91 of Weches, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 at Whitehall Nursing Home in Crockett. Mrs. Peacock was born September 12, 1916 in Weches to William J. and Elizabeth Walling Burran.
Mrs. Peacock was of Pentecostal faith and in her younger years attended Belott Pentecostal Church as well as Weches Pentecostal Church regularly (and any other Pentecostal Church she could get a ride to). Mrs. Peacock was loved by all who knew her and whether you were family, friend or stranger you never left her home or presence without a hug an "I love you," and an invitation to come back to visit her.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Sanford Lee and Myrtle Ruth Peacock, of Weches; daughters Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bridges, of Friona and Belle Bridges, of Amarillo; daughter-in-law Delores Orum, of Weches; grandchildren Tammy Peacock, of Plaestine, Diane Jimenez, of Latexo, Ricky Peacock, Harvey Lyn Peacock and wife Rhonda, all of Weches, Denese O'Pry-Droddy and husband Steven Droddy, of Houston, Stephen O'Pry and wife Lori, of Kingwood, Jim Harvey O'Pry, of Palestine, Patricia Lanier and husband Jerry L., Margie Reeves and husband Joe, all of Friona, Debbie Miller and husband Eddie, of Amarillo, Jerry Bridges, of Friona, David Bridges, Michael Bridges and Donna Lilcs and husband Scott, all of Amarillo; also the Clicks Family; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her parents Williams J. and Elizabeth Walling Burran; husband Harvey Lee Peacock; daughter Linda Sue Peacock-Ringer; infant son; grandson Gary Bridges; brothers Winfred, John and Sanford Burran; sisters Nora Pyle, Dora McIntyre Simon, Ruth Oates and Viola Beal; and infant sister Cora Burran.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Jennie Cordelia Peacock were held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Weches Cemetery with Bro. James Allee officiating.
