Services for Winfred A. (Fred) Burdick were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nortonville Seven Day Baptist Church. Mr. Burdick, who lived at 744 Vesper, Topeka, died April 1 at a local hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Edelstein, Ill., and lived in the Nortonville community until 1932 when he moved to Topeka.
A graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, Mr. Burdick was a music instructor in northeast Kansas public schools and an organist. He did piano service work after coming to Topeka. He was a member of Lowman Hill Methodist Church and Siloam Lodge No. 225, AF & AM.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Effie Burdick of the home; one daughter, Mrs. H. Louise Hartman of San Diego, Calif.; three sons, Hugh D. Burdick, of Wichita, Duate E. Burdick of Norfolk, Va. and George K. Burdick of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, William P. Burdick of Mission; 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Burial was in Nortonville Cemetery.
