She was married to Winfred A. Burdick of Nortonville at Kansas City, Mo., in 1910.
To this union were born two children, Harriet Louise Burdick, age 6 years, and Hugh Dale Burdick, age 10 months.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, and the Order of the Eastern Star, the latter of which she was Worthy Matron.
From Nortonville, where their children were born, they moved to Valley Falls last August and made many friends.
After a weeks illness Agness died at the home on South Frazier Avenue, Valley Falls, Sunday night, March 2, 1919, aged 33 years. Death was due to influenza, with which all the members of the family were sick.
She is survived by her husband and two children; her mother, Mrs. N. Lutz, the stepfather and one brother, George Shasteen of Waldron, Kansas, who came to attend the funeral.
A dear wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a lady of beautiful character has passed away all too soon.
Tuesday morning the body, accompanied by the mother, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdick, H. C. Burdick of Topeka and Mrs. Chas. Kauffman, the husband and children not being able to leave home, was taken to Nortonville, where Rev. Poland conducted the funeral services. The body was laid to rest in the Nortonville cemetery by the side of her father, Walter Shasteen, and a brother, Onno Shasteen, the latter dying only recently.
The bereaved have the sympathy of many friends.
