Joseph R. E. Gagnon passed away on June 7th after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born April 7, 1937 in Fall River, Massachusetts, where he began serving his country proudly for 20 years in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the Army, he worked at Hewlett-Packard and SCI in Colorado Springs where he was a resident for 39 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Kay, sons Raymond and Robert, daughter Tina, grandson Jeremy, and sister Claudette. He was preceded in death by his mother Rose, father Emile, and brother Roland.

Joseph was a member of the American Legion Post 209; a life member of TREA; a member of Elmohr Iris Society and Pikes Peak Water Garden Society; a volunteer for Silver Key, Fountain Valley Senior Center, and Colorado Springs Senior Center; and a Scoutmaster of Troop 61 of the Boy Scouts of America.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 10:30 am, at Southside Bible Chapel, 1725 S. Wahsatch Avenue, Colorado Springs.
