Shirley Ann Heller (loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother) passed away June 8th in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by her family.

She was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Carrie and Charles Williams. She had four brothers and sisters: Dorothy, Harold, Charles, and Lillian, who all precede her in death.

She graduated Valedictorian of her high school class in Grand Island and went to Nebraska Wesleyan University where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Heller. They were married in August, 1949, and had two children: Marilee Denton of Colorado Springs (husband Steven) and William II (BJ) Heller of Pagosa Springs (wife Cindy).

They moved to Colorado Springs in 1957 and created a wonderful life with their family and a wide circle of friends. She began working in the County Courts in 1969 and became Clerk of the El Paso County Court in 1981 until her retirement in July, 1996.

She also gave her time and considerable talents to the Eagles Roost Gallery, a southwestern art gallery, which she and Bill owned. After her retirement, and after a fabulous 7-week vacation to New Zealand and Australia, she worked in their other business, Heller's Interiors, until they sold it in 2005.

She and Bill enjoyed and shared a love of traveling and collecting southwestern art. She created a wonderful home that has always been the gathering place for fun and joyous times for their many loving friends and close and devoted family.

Her great joy and light of her life was her grandchildren: Justin, Natali (husband Scott), Jared (wife Liz), and Tyndall, and her step-grandson, Jess; and her great-granddaughters, her beautiful "girls": Kaylin, Ashlynd and Kenna. She demonstrated incredible grace and strength, kindness and compassion, throughout her life to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A public viewing will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave, on Friday, June 13 from 1 - 7 pm. Funeral will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home on Saturday, June 14, at 10 am, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Care and Share Food Bank, 2520 Aviation Way, Suite 130, Colorado Springs, CO 80916; www.careandshare.org.
