"A minister of the Presbyterian Church from 1858 until the day of his death. He gave himself to the Service of the Southern Confederacy, Member of the Constitutional Convention 1901-1902. President of Hampden Sydney College for twenty one years." Died at age 79. Buried 11 Aug 1913.
