Michelle Huckabee Howard, 46, of 182 Hamlin Avenue, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Bryan Center, Yanceyville, NC after a decline in health for the past year.

She was born in Marion, AL on April 27, 1962, a daughter of Malcom W. Huckabee and Lynn Cook Huckabee.

Michelle had lived most of her life in Danville and was graduate of George Washington High School. She was a graduate of Radford College and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Averett College.

Michelle was a special education teacher for the Danville Public Schools and was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Drew N. Howard of the home; two daughters, Cory Howard of Charlotte, NC and Allison Howard of Danville; a sister, Shannon H. Turner and her hus-band, Tony of Danville; a brother, Robert Huckabee and his wife, Sabine of Valkaria,Fla.; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Neal Howard and Joy Howard.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Mount Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times will be at the residence of her parents at 121 Ginger Drive.
