LAST RITES FOR MRS. WILLIAM WERTS
Ellen Loretta Lyons, daughter of Michael and Bridget Flaherty Lyons, was born at Dimmick, Illinois on September 2, 1871 and passed away at her home Monday morning, January 28, 1952, at the age of 81 years, 4 months , and 13 days.
She was united in marriage to William J. Werts on September 15, 1897, in St. Patrick's Church, LaSalle, Illinis. They moved to Nebraska in 1910 and lived in the Mt. Pleasant community until she and Mr. Werts retired and moved to St. Edward in December of 1943.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Margaret, a brother, Michael, and a son, Harry.
She is survived by her husband, six children, Francis at home, Charles , Martin, and Marguerite (Mrs. Martin Mahoney) of St. Edward; Helen (Mrs. John Good) of Valley; and Florence (Mrs. Joe Gruber) of Pacoima, California; one sister, Mrs. Julia Butler, Mendota, Illinois; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Last services were held from the St. Edward Catholic Church Wednesday morning, January 30, at nine o'clock. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
Pallbearers were the grandsons, Duane, James and Harry Werts, Jack LeClaire, Donald Zimmerman and Edward Coan.
