John Stewart, 69 CARLSBAD - John "Greg" Stewart, 69, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in El Cajon of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born June 28, 1933, in Archer City, Texas, he lived in Carlsbad for 18 years. He was a real estate broker. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was president of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce.

He was a member of E Clampus Vitus. He was a former candidate for the U.S. Senate. He was an avid golfer.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his former wife of eight years, Carole Jayne Stewart of Carlsbad and former wife of 13 years, Bonnie Stewart of Naples; sons Randall Layne Stewart of marina Del Rey, Reed Allen Stewart of La Grande, John Gregory Stewart Jr. of Oceanside and Dana Brian Stewart of Carlsbad; brother and sister-in-law James Max and Maggie Stewart of Fallbrook; and grandchildren Larz, Laurel, Lana, John Gregory III, Shane, Jasmine, Erika, Dana Brian Jr. and Kristen Stewart.

Private cremation is planned. The family suggests donations to any Alzheimer's research and cure or any charitable nonprofit organization. www.alz.org. Accu-Care Cremation Center is handling arrangement
